Wonderful lesson teaching story.

Wonderful lesson teaching story.
We love Fancy Nancy. The first book my daughter had was Fancy Nancy at The Museum for her Tag Reader and she still loves to read it over and over. This book was bought for her because she has a love for tea party's and I think seeing Nancy having a tea party will be awesome for her. This book is well illustrated and super adorable and I love the way they try to be "proper" by speaking French. The story not only shows friends who are having tea but there is a lesson to be learned as well. I won't spoil it but let's just say things work out.Over all I am pleased with the way the message is delivered on how to get along and learning to compromise.

This very quickly became one of my two daughters' favorite books (ages 2 and 4, and very fancy in their own right). I am new to the Fancy Nancy series but I am totally hooked. In this book, Nancy and her neighbor/friend Bree have a doll tea party and wind up fighting over the tea set. The tea set breaks, and both girls are upset. Nancy's parents encourage her to apologize, and all is right in the end. It's a great story about friendship, sharing, and taking responsibility. Like all Fancy Nancy books, it subtly teaches vocabulary - genius! My two year old now knows "au reviour" is goodbye in French, simply from deducing it through the context of the story. Love love love, and will be purchasing the rest of the series!

Note - this is a paperback version of the book and very flimsy. Not an issue for the kids, but had I known how much they'd love the story, I would have bought a hardcover that would probably last longer.

I have a policy that I don't let my young children watch or read anything without my approval (which means I have to watch or read it first). I didn't know about these books when my friend first introduced me to them. I thought they were just a bunch of cutesy fluff. I'm glad I gave them a chance. My daughters adore Fancy Nancy! This is actually only the second book we've bought but we want more! This particular book is about two friends learning to share a special tea set and more importantly learning to reconcile and forgive and still be friends after both acted selfishly. What's more, these books teach vocabulary in a fun and memorable way because it's written right into the story (which I'm hoping will encourage their love of words). Of course, all my daughters notice is the cute dress up clothes and tea party, not knowing that they're also learning how to be a good friend.
