I searched for days to find the right iPad case for my New iPad before deciding on this one. I am very happy with my choice. My requirements were many: had to cover the corners of the iPad, not be too bulky, have angles for typing and viewing movies, have the sleep/wake function, look stylish but not unprofessional, and be durable. This iPad case meets all of these requirements. The part that holds the iPad in place is actually made of a durable, hard plastic material and it "snaps" onto the iPad very easily, but doesn't fall off, which is perfect. All of the openings in the cover fit the charger, headphone jack, camera, etc without obstruction and since it fits so exactly, the iPad does not move around inside of the case. The sleep/wake function works very well. The cover can be folded into a comfortable angle for typing and a few angles for viewing movies. The cover is made of a durable leather-like material on the outside and a smooth-material/felt/soft rubberish material (I don't know what it is exactly) on the inside so that the screen does not get scratched. It is durable and stylish without looking unprofessional. I got the peacock blue color and is is a very vibrant almost-turquoise color. The cover lightly snaps closed to keep the cover in place. All in all, this was a great buy and I am very happy with it.

Fits Great, Stand is Lacking

This case is thin but durable. Snaps close(great for throwing in my purse), and the auto sleep function works great. The only downside is the stand. The notches are shallow and short, so it really only works for the two farthest upright positions. Also, it's only for the horizontal position. If I want it to be slightly elevated I just fold it backwards. Works for me.. Cover folds almost flat behind the iPad so you can hold in your hand when reading like a book.

I have a speck case for my MacBook in the peacock color, and love it. I was bummed when the speck iPad case came and it's not really the same color. Still pretty, though. Still looks clean, despite the lighter color. Keep fingers clean, because it will smudge with lotion, etc.

Perfect for someone who is looking for a thin light case, but not if you need a great stand.

It is also versatile because you can hold it like a book when reading but you can also prop it up on a table so that is a landscape screen. Paired with my Logitec bluetooth keyboard, this makes my iPad a tiny portable computer. The nice thing is that you can easily adjust the angle of the iPad screen so that it easy to read. This is poorly designed case. The build quality is very good, as well as the aesthetics, however it doesn't function properly. The iPad doesn't stay in angled position. Basically, if the bottom part of the case is slightly bent--which obviously happens when it's placed on your laps--the holding notch slips off the grooves. It is only stable if used on a table, otherwise it's usless. Despite the fact that I like the case, I am sending it back.

Great design, not so durable

I really like the design of this case. The screen screen isn't obscured by the plastic backing, all of the ports and buttons are accessible, the available colors are great, etc. The magnetic on/off feature has always worked well, and I love that I just have to close the case to put my iPad to sleep. The only annoying design element is the way the standing feature works. None of the settings is really stable enough to be able to type on the screen keyboard without the iPad falling over. In particular, the lowest two angle settings are unstable enough that just touching the screen a few times will knock it down. Otherwise, I love the design.

I would absolutely give this five stars, except that after only a few months of use the case is already starting to wear out. The rubberized coating on the edges of the case started peeling off in the first two weeks. After two months, the plastic shell holding the iPad had a hairline crack about an inch long. The corners of the cover have started to gap so that the screen's corners aren't completely protected even if the cover is closed. If this is its condition after three months of moderate use, I'm concerned it won't last long. Even if it continues to function, and the plastic shell doesn't break, it already looks shabby.

Love Speck products and my husband has the same case for his iPad in black which he loves so I went for the red one so we wouldn't mix them up. He had a different case (Belkin) before which was nice that I got him but it never got rid of it's strong factory smell going on a year now which would transfer onto your hands. Speck cases have a similar factory smell, but it wears off. It's nice and sleek, very form fitted! Not at all bulky!

I purchased this case when my husband bought me the new 3rd generation iPad earlier this year, and I love it. It doesn't add a lot of bulk to the iPad but still seems to protect it pretty well and the case is simple but sleek for a great price. After six months of use, however, a portion of the plastic by one of the top corners has chipped - it's not very noticeable, and may be attributed to the fact that i use it a lot every day and that I have a toddler that often gets her hands on it as well. I love the stylish red color, the convenient sleep/wake function, and the secure snap closure. I have used Speck products in the past (for my iPhone), and this one did not disappoint.

Been using it for about a month now and I really like it. It's a nice, light, low profile case. Doesn't add much bulk and the red goes well with the white border of the iPad.

Got it on sale for $11 so it's a good value at that price. I don't think it would be worth the $40.00 regular price though. For that much money it should include a screen protector and be made out of real leather!

Heute ist mein Case endlich angekommen, nun mein erstes Fazit.
Das Case passt sehr gut um mein Ipad 4 und das Autowake On/Off funktioniert auch wunderbar.
Des weiteren bietet das Case viele stand Möglichkeiten welche auch relativ stabil sind.
Mir war auch wichtig das die Kante komplett durch ein Hardcase geschützt sind, welches aber nicht zu weit auf das Displayglas ragt und das Case/Hülle nicht unnötig Dick und klobig macht.
Alles in allem habe ich kein anderes Case gefunden, welches diese Eigenschaften so gut vereint.
Die Verarbeitung ist für den Preis auch voll OK, da kann man nicht meckern,
Das Plastik könnte etwas hochwertiger sein und jetzt am Anfang riecht das ganze noch sehr künstlich, aber das verfliegt sicher noch.
Ich kann das Case nur Empfehlen.

　speckのiPad用ケースは、軽くて使いやすく、iPad２以来愛用して、つい最近３個目を購入しました。
　何よりも気に入っている点は、ケースにiPad本体がピッタリとはまり、袋方式のものと違って、本体の重さでずり落ちることがなく、気持よく使いつづけることができる点です。
　ランドスケープで立てて使用するときの角度もバリエーションが豊富だし、デザインも落ち着いていて、仕事用で使うのにも目立ちません。
　以前のモデルは、カバーを閉じるの部分にゴム紐を使用していて、それはそれで「味」があったのですが、今度はプラスチックでカチッと閉じるタイプなので、良くなりました。

ただし、欠点もあります。
本体がピッタリ収まるケース部分ですが、プラスチックの端の部分が折れやすく、ちょっと落としただけですぐ折れます。ちなみに、これまでの２個はすべて折りました（笑）。とはいっても、折れても、ほとんど支障なく使い続けることができ、実際、私は１年以上、使い続けていました。
それから、カバー裏のビロードのような部分が経年劣化により、ボロボロと剥がれ、斑になります。
そして、最後に、いつも品薄で、購入が難しいのが、おそらく最大の欠点です。

それでも、いくつかある欠点を補ってあまりあるほど使いやすいものなので、運良く入手できるのであれば、躊躇なく購入すべき一品です。
　あまたあるiPadケースのほとんどを手にとって、「どれもしっくりこないなー。」と思っていた私には、当面、これしか選択肢はなさそうです。

Nice case for a good price

This is our 3rd case for our ipad2. With a 4 year old, our first hard case held together well for about 1.5 year until it cracked, the replacement soft case (with cover) was destroyed within 1 month. This speck case provide a hybrid with a hard plastic back for protection as well as an attached cover.

I have used speck iphone cases before and find the quality were good and this ipad case is consistent with that fact. It's a good fit and use it for a month without much complain.

1 star short as I find using the case as a stand is not as stable as other cases.
