This was PERFECT for a camping kit. We are a family of 4, and I was able to cook all of our meals, and heat up the dish water, with just this. It would be nice if once the pots are all nested that the fry pan (it doubles as the lid) secured somehow. But we just use a tiny bungee cord. Not a huge deal.

This was exactly what I was looking for. The large pot is perfect to boil water in so I have hot water on hand. Haven't tried to make coffee in the little one yet since we already have a coffee pot, but for "cowboy coffee" I don't see why it wouldn't work. Everything packs well, and I was even able to rearrange so I could add some of my existing items. Yes, the plates are smaller than normal at-home plates, but I since they have to fit inside the pot I was expecting as much.

My parents own an older version of this cook kit, and I loved the pieces especially the smallest pot (it worjed great for boiling water). Unfortunately that pot was the only good thing about this updated kit. The handle is terribly positioned; not only is the angle weird to insert it into the slot (you have to hold your hand over the burning fire above which the pot sits to attach it) but it is so loosely attached that it falls out when you turn it sideways to pour out its spout, spilling your pot and contents everywhere (not good when it has hot food or boiling water). Even with cooking spray, these dishes BURN everything to high heaven and are difficult to clean. These just are not functional. I am so disappointed.

This kit is exactly what I was expecting with the exception of the 'coffee' pot it states it has. I was expecting a peculator insert for it but it didn't have one, so really it's just a little pot with a lid. Which is fine, just beware if you think you are going to percolate some coffee in it :) It is light weight, like an oversized mess kit. It was perfect for our last camping trip and feel that it will be perfect for many more to come. As a side note, I did see a few similar sets at other stores, but the prices ranged from $50-$90, so this was a good deal. I didn't open the packages to see the thickness of the material or anything, but I can tell you that this set is just fine for cooking in, and a far sight cheaper!

This set is awesome and for 11 people was all we used to cook all weekend on our 2 day canoe trip! We also used the stove below and the 5.5 qt pot fit great on it and boiled lots of water! The frying pan even got some use for making quesadillas! For long term backpacking its a bit big but when you have more than 4 people and can spread the gear around OR you are car camping, GO FOR IT. I used this set WAY more than we used my optimus set!
